Together We Make a Difference
At Ephesian Community Food Share (ECFS), our mission to serve individuals and families in need is driven by our core values of compassion, connection, collaboration, integrity, equity and inclusion, empowerment, and impact. We can feel grateful for the inspiring story of how this non-profit was founded in 2007 when a compassionate couple decided to forgo exchanging Christmas gifts and instead use the money to help a family in need. Seeing the real needs of those around them, they chose to create something that could support everyone's well-being and found ECFS—with a firm belief that “no one should be left behind—to accomplish this goal.
Even though they were just a normal couple from the community, they dedicated themselves to serving thousands of individuals and families across the East Bay, making a real difference in those people’s lives. Sadly, in 2019, the husband passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and service that continues to shape ECFS.
Fortunately, we can celebrate the work they started and the fact that we remain committed to making a greater impact in those communities. Through their diverse and varied programs, we're contributing to combating hunger, eradicating childhood hunger, and fostering cooperation and partnerships with other organizations to create a stronger and healthier society, while providing holistic support to empower individuals and families to thrive.
At the heart of their work is the determination to build a well-rounded and successful life for everyone and to make sure that no one is left behind. We invite everybody reading this to join us in our mission by volunteering or contributing to the cause, and get in touch with us if there are any questions. Together, let's create a strong and resilient future.
